Rotterdam Central District, close to the railway station, is currently undergoing a major overhaul including the development of 4,000 new homes, 100,000 m2 of office space, and a variety of amenities. The development aims to create a vibrant and densely built urban district where living, working, and leisure come together.

Construction of The Modernist, a project that includes 418 homes, began end 2024. Work is scheduled to begin on Tree House, next to the station, in 2026 and plans for the Blue Zone Offices are in their final stages. By 2027, the Lumière and RISE
projects are due to break ground.
