Amsterdam Noord
1,600
AM and Amvest
Construction due to start in early 2027
This former industrial site of 50,000 m² on the waterfront in Amsterdam Noord is being redeveloped into a new urban district with 150,000 m² of floor space. The project will deliver 1,600 homes, two-thirds of which will be in the lower and mid-price segments, alongside 30,000 m² for manufacturing, offices and hospitality.
Water, nature and climate adaptation are central to the design, which aims to create a resilient and accessible neighbourhood. The zoning process has started, with demolition scheduled for the end of 2025 and construction due to begin in 2027. The district will be built in phases, with public access maintained throughout development, and will prioritise affordability, quality and nature-inclusive design.
