Planning status

the zoning plan for the first stage has been approved

One of the largest inner-city redevelopments in the Netherlands is set to create a car-free district focused on innovative living and sustainable mobility. The plan will deliver between 4,000 and 6,000 homes, more than half of which will be affordable through social housing and mid-range rental or purchase.

The first phase includes around 4,250 homes, followed by a second phase with about 1,750. Alongside housing, the district will feature hospitality, shops, schools, sports facilities, cultural spaces, a health centre and creative businesses. The development prioritises cycling and walking, with no cars in the neighbourhood, and will include extensive green public spaces and shared courtyards.
