Dependent on planning procedures.
Strandeiland in Amsterdam’s IJburg archipeligo of artificial islands will be a new urban district with a total of 8,000 homes spread over four distinct areas when completed by 2040.
AM is currently developing four plots - M1a, M2a, M2b and M3a - with 344 homes, including 138 mid-range rental apartments. The project also includes 4,500 m² of commercial space for facilities including a supermarket, health centre and a mobility hub. The plan is designed with a strong focus on sustainability and will be built almost entirely in wood, including a 13-storey tower.
Ballast Nedam Development's plots (M5 and M7) involves 210 homes, including 80 mid segment apartments, 17 non-rent controlled apartments and 113 unique town houses. In addition, M5 and M7 will house a communal mobility hub.
